Cut Calories Without Calculating
As you probably already know, weight loss accomplished with proper diet and appropriate exercise. Figuring out how much exercise you need is fairly straightforward. Proper diet is a significantly more complex issue. One way to approach improving your diet is to integrate healthier habits gradually. If you need to reduce your caloric intake to achieve your weight loss goals, don’t overwhelm yourself by obsessing over numbers if that method has failed you in the past.
Counting calories can be effective for those that find it motivating. Others, however, find counting can trigger results opposite those they desired. If calorie counting depresses you, don’t despair. You don’t necessarily need a calculator to reduce your intake.
If you are struggling with your diet, you may not be eating enough fresh fruits and vegetables. In addition to their many health benefits, most fresh fruits and vegetables are considerably less fat and calorie dense than other foods we typically eat. If you’re not getting your “5-a-day”, or if you are getting your recommended daily intake of vegetables and fruit from processed foods, increase your consumption of fresh, raw produce. It will probably reduce your overall caloric intake. Whether or not you consciously cut down on other snacks, feeling more full and satisfied throughout the day may influence you to eat less of foods that are high in fat and calories.
